Deputy road police chief killed in North Caucasus' Makhachkala

Detectives said he had got three gunshot wounds and died immediately

MAKHACHKALA, August 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Three unidentified gunmen killed deputy chief of the road police department in the city of Makhachkala, capital of North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan, on Friday morning, a Dagestani official from Russian Investigative Committee told Itar-Tass.

“Unidentified killers opened fire at the lieutenant-colonel of the Makhachkala deputy road police chief from a black Lada Priora car on Akushinsky Avenue. The police officer died of wounds,” the republican official said.

Detectives said that the police officer had got three gunshot wounds and died immediately.

“The police officer was attacked by criminals when he was going out from his house to a police station,” he said.

Dagestani police press service confirmed the death of a policeman, noting the city police had been put on alert and were searching for criminals.
