Almost 46,000 Ukrainian refugees live in Russian temporary settlements

MOSCOW, August 06. /ITAR-TASS/. More than 45,700 Ukrainian refugees, including 15,372 children, live in 612 temporary settlements in Russian regions, spokesperson of the ministry of emergency situations Alexander Drobyshevsky said on Wednesday.

“Ukrainian citizens are sent from the Rostov Region and Crimea to other Russian regions. The ministry’s aviation transported more than 9,500, cars - more than 11,300, trains - almost 5,000,” Drobyshevsky said.

The ministry’s aviation and cars delivered more than 1.7 tonnes of humanitarian aid for the refugees.

A mobile hospital working in Rostov Region’s Donetsk since July 2 helped more than 1,300 Ukrainians, including 191 children.

About 60,000 asked for refugee status or temporary asylum, the Federal Migration Service chief Konstantin Romodanovsky said on Tuesday. About 2 million Ukrainians are now in Russia; about 600,000 have arrived from Ukraine’s southeast.
