MOSCOW, July 19. /ITAR-TASS/. President Vladimir Putin and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in a telephone conversation on Saturday, July 19, discussed the Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 passenger plane accident in eastern Ukraine.

“In keeping with the agreement, [the sides] continued to discuss the issues of ensuring an independent, open and objective investigation into the causes of the Malaysia Airlines plane crash in the Donetsk Region,” the presidential press service.

Putin and Rutte “stressed that it should be an international investigation which should be conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) with the participation of all interested parties”.

The two leaders noted “the need to do everything possible to ensure the work of the OSCE representatives and to give international experts access to the crash site”.

The plane en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk Region 60 km from the Russian border on July 17 and as many as 298 people aboard died.
