The delegation is led by first deputy speaker Ivan Melnikov and it includes lawmakers Sergei Sobko (Communist Party), Akhmat Erkenov (United Russia), Dmitry Gorovtsov (a Just Russia party) and Sergei Karginov (Liberal Democratic Party).
“The visit is important. These will be the first inter-parliamentary exchanges after Russian-Chinese relations reached a new level due to strengthening of mutual understanding on international platforms and signing of strategic economic agreements,” Melnikov said.
Commenting on the agenda of the visit, he said the delegation “will have meetings at the high level. We’ll take the opportunity to visit Tibet”.
The State Duma delegation will return to Moscow on July 19.
