MOSCOW, July 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Mass murderer Sergei Tsapok has been found dead in his investigation prison cell in the southern Krasnodar Territory.He was the leader of a criminal ring that had terrorized the local population in the village of Kushchevskaya in 1998-2010 and killed at least 19 people. The gang is responsible for the mass killing of 12 people, including four children, in the village on November 5, 2012.
Another member of the same ring, Igor Chernykh, sentenced to life imprisonment for numerous killings, earlier committed suicide in an investigation prison.
Tsapok was staying in an investigation prison pending response to his appeal against the guilty verdict handed down in his case. On July 5, he was taken to one of the city hospitals where he was preliminarily diagnosed as having had a stroke. After receiving medical attention he was transferred to the prison infirmary.
No injuries suggesting that violence had been used against Tsapok were found on his body.
