Statistics: lowest unemployment rates in Russia are in central regions

In Russia’s two biggest cities - Moscow and St. Petersburg - the rate was 1.5 and 1.4% respectively

MOSCOW, July 06. /ITAR-TASS/. The lowest unemployment rate in March-May among Russian regions - 3.1% - was registered in the Central Federal District, the highest one - 11.6% - in the North Caucasus Federal District, Russia’s statistics authority, Rosstat, reports.

In February-April of the current year the unemployment rate in those regions made 3.2 and 11.8% respectively.

In Russia’s two biggest cities - Moscow and St. Petersburg - the rate was 1.5 and 1.4% respectively (against 1.6 in a previous period).

The highest unemployment rate in the Central Federal District was registered in the Orlov region (5.7% against 5.2%), the lowest one - in Moscow.

In the North Caucasus Federal District, the highest unemployment rate is in Ingushetia (34.7% against 35.6%), the lowest one - in the Stavropol region (5.2% against 5.1%).
