Russia hopes truce terms in Ukraine will be observed by all sides — UN envoy

UNITED NATIONS, June 24. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia hopes the terms of a truce in Ukraine will be observed by all parties to the conflict, Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, said Tuesday.

He added that the peace plan in Ukraine is not realistic without the negotiating process.

Churkin also said Russia was indignant at Ukraine’s refusal to cooperate on refugee problems.

Churkin said the flow of refugees to Russia does not stop. By now, some 450,000 Ukrainians have crossed the border to Russia.

“The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s refusal to interact with us in this sphere is outrageous. We are calling to remove these obstacles for deliveries of humanitarian cargoes and ensure safe corridors for civilians to leave combat operations areas,” he said.
