NOVOSIBIRSK, June 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Firefighters have contained a blaze breaking out at a warehouse of plastic products and household chemical products in Oktyabrsky district of the Russian south-western Siberian city of Novosibirsk. Fire-fighting is complicated by a large area of premises and possible collapse, official of Novosibirsk regional emergency situation department Dmitry Yartsev said.

“The fire area is 300 square meters, and the building collapsed at an area of about 400 square meters. People were evacuated timely. Fire-fighting is being aggravated by a large fire area and the height of the warehouse. There is a threat of collapse,” he said.

Forty-four firefoghters and 11 fire trucks are working at the site. Black smoke is rising high and is seen from different districts of the city. Blasts of sprayers stored at the warehouse were heard from time to time.
