MOSCOW, June 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Kiev deliberately provokes Russia, Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for the CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, said on Wednesday.
“The intrusion of armored vehicles into the Russian territory, aggressive actions against the Russian Embassy in Kiev, the behavior of Ukrainian gas negotiators and the tragic death of our journalists are a powerful factor that pushes Russia and the Russian leaders towards taking retaliatory measures,” Slutsky noted.
It is difficult to hold a civilized dialogue with Ukraine because “Kiev was tasked to torpedo such dialogue”, he said.
Slutsky urged not to yield to the West’s provocations that aim at drawing Russia into a real conflict with Ukraine.
