Two die in Jewish Autonomous Region airplane crash

VLADIVOSTOK, June 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Two people have died in an airplane crash in Russia's Far Eastern Jewish Autonomous Regions, an official for the Russian Emergencies Ministry told ITAR-TASS.

"Early on Tuesday, we had a report from relatives of a person. They said he had failed to contact them," Yekaterina Potvorova, spokeswoman for the Far Eastern Emergencies Department, told ITAR-TASS. "A search party, which was immediately dispatched to the area, found a small private plane and the bodies of two people near the village of Priamursky."

Investigators and local prosecutors are looking into the circumstances of the accident. A preliminary report said the plane was flying to the regional center Birobidzhan.
