BERLIN, May 24/ /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has had a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande on Saturday over the situation in Ukraine, the German government’s spokesman, Steffen Seibert said on Saturday.
“They agree that tomorrow’s presidential elections have big significance for stabilisation in the country,” Seibert said.
“The leaders voiced concern over the current situation in Ukraine,” he said.
During the conversation, Putin, Merkel and Hollande said the elections “should be held in all parts of Ukraine in a peaceful atmosphere”, Seibert said.
“They are unanimous in the need to complete energy talks between Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission as soon as possible,” he said.
