MOSCOW, May 16 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will chair a session of the presidium of the Council on Modernization of the Economy and Innovative Development, dedicated to the theme of health care.
The RF government press service reported that those present at the session would discuss innovative development in the fields of medical technology and pharmaceutics, the development of innovative medicines, the manufacture of diagnostic facilities and IT-solutions in the field of health care, as well as interaction between science and business at the stage of developing medical appliances.
The following will participate in the session: Vice-Premier Arkady Dvorkovich, Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova, Mikhail Abyzov, Minister for Relations with the Open Government, other representatives of governmental organizations, and of respective associations and enterprises.
The conference will take place in Noidorf District of the Special Economic Zone of technology introduction type (SEZ) of St Petersburg near Petrodvorets at Strelna. It has been set up in two areas (Noidorf and Novo-Orlovskaya). As of now, 32 companies have been registered in the SEZ territory as residents. All SEZ infrastructure facilities were put into operation in Noidorf in April. A customs office has been functioning in its territory since April 9.
The Prime Minister will also visit the customs office that opened in Noidorf and the research-and-production complex of the Biokad Company.
ZAO (private joint-stock company) Biokad was established in 2001. It engages in developing biological medicinal drugs, chemical generics in the fields of oncology and hematology, autoimmune diseases, viral infections and reproductive health. The Company turns out 20 medicines. More than 40 other products are in various stages of development. The Company has been a resident of the SEZ since 2010.
Medvedev will also familiarize himself with the medical facilities of the research-and-production company Electron, a press service official said. The Prime Minister will tour the "Electron" enterprise which develops and produces hi-tech medical diagnostic equipment, and software solutions for the computerization of health care. The Company delivers its output to all the regions of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States as well as to more than 30 countries, including Japan, the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany, China, and Argentina.
