MOSCOW, May 15, 19:39 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will give a speech at the International Security Conference due to be held in Moscow on May 23-24, the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

“The 3rd International Security Conference is organized by the Russian Defense Ministry and will take place in Moscow on May 23,” the ministry’s spokesman, Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday.

The forum will be devoted to discussions “on global security and ways to settle regional conflicts with the focus on the situation in Afghanistan in light of the upcoming withdrawal of the NATO-led contingent. The conference will also touch on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa”, he said.

“The conference is held in pursuance to Russia’s consistent policy for searching for adequate responses to global and regional challenges based on the norms of international law,” Lukashevich said.
