SANTIAGO, April 30 /ITAR-TASS/. Chilean President Michelle Bachelet has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit her country.
“The president has invited Vladimir Putin to visit Chile,” Foreign Minister Heraldo Munoz said after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday, April 30.
He also mentioned a joint trip to Antarctica with stops at research stations as a possibility.
“I will convey the invitation to visit the country to Vladimir Putin,” Lavrov said.
He said Russia and Chile had a strong basis for cooperation and during the talks and meetings in Santiago the two countries agreed to enhance their dialogue.
To this end, the Russian-Chilean Inter-Governmental Commission will meet in Moscow in late July 2014.
