Caspian states responsible for situation in region — Lavrov

MOSCOW, April 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Five Caspian littoral countries - Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, are ready for cooperation with non-regional states in compliance with the “Caspian Five” rules and principles, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

“During today’s discussions, we’ve confirmed that the five Caspian states are responsible for the situation in the region,” Lavrov said after a ministerial conference on Tuesday.

“This is primarily related to the events in the region, to security issues and to the norms that our states are guided by,” he said.
