CHITA, April 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Two army helicopters have joined fire-fighting efforts in Russia's Zabaikalsky Krai where 14 wildfires are raging on a 800-hectare area, the press service of the Eastern Military District told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday
"The helicopters are part of the army aviation air base in the region. They carry special equipment. Some 50 missions are planned for Tuesday," the press service said.
Five of the 14 wildfires have been contained. Taking part in the fire-fighting efforts are more than 300 people and 48 units of equipment, including three helicopters of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry.
Zabaikalsky Krai announced an emergency mode and a ban on trips to forests on April 15.
