Russian government distributes subsidies for sports facilities construction

MOSCOW, April 19, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed an order on distribution of federal subsidies to co-finance construction of sports facilities in the regions.

The government has allocated for the co-financing in 2014 under the federal special programme on development of physical culture and sports in Russia over 4.9 billion roubles (about 138 million dollars).

The biggest subsidies will be transferred to Chuvashya, Tambov region and Karachay-Cherkessiya.

With the support from the federal government, the regions will be able to build 114 sports facilities, including 23 sports complexes, 30 sports halls, nine swimming pools, 15 ice rinks, 14 on-land and 23 specialised facilities.
