Defence minister checks troops to participate in Victory Day parade in Moscow

The most large-scale parade will be held in Moscow, where more than 11 thousand servicemen, more than 150 units of military hardware, 69 airplanes and helicopter gunships will participate

ALABINO (Moscow region), April 18, 10:57 /ITAR-TASS/. Trainings of combined units of infantry and mechanised columns are passing at military fire ranges from the Russia far eastern city of Vladivostok to the westernmost city of Kaliningrad in run-up to military parades on occasion of the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 on May 9.

On Friday, Russian Defence Minister General Sergei Shoigu is checking troops which will participate in a parade on the Red Square on May 9. A parade rehearsal started right at 10am Moscow time that is the time the May 9 parade will begin on the Red Square.

Military parades will be held in 25 Russian cities on Victory Day. Main events will be traditionally held in the cities where headquarters of military districts, fleets, all-arms armies, hero cities are located.
