Russian to display about 500 specimengs of military products at DSA exhibition in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's enterprises will display 477 specimens of products of military purpose at the DSA-2014 International exhibition of armaments and military hardware, which is to be held from April 14 to 17 in Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur, an official in the press service of the RF Federal Service for Technical Military Cooperation (FSTMC) told Itar-Tass.

'"In Pavilions 4 and 6, on an area of 555 square metres, display stands have been arranged by 22 Russian organizations, 20 of which will feature military products. Among the exhibitors are the following five technical military cooperaiton entities: the OAO (public joint-stock company) Rosoboronexport, the OAO Uralvagonzavod, the OAO Oborobnprom (defence industry), the OAO Engineering Design Bureau, and the OAO "SchwabeDefence and Protection", the press service official said.

The Russian delegation at the exhibition will be led by Mikhail Petukhov, Deputy Director of the FSTMC. The Rostekhnologii state corporation is the organizer of the Russian exhibition.

The overall area of the DSA-2014 exhibition is 41,000 sq.m. According to organizers' information, more than 300 official delegations from over 50 countries are to visit the exhibition, and 787 foreign companies from 54 countries will be exhibitors. The operational capabilities of Malaysia's Land Forces are expected to be displayed every day under the demontration programme, the FSTMC official pointed out.

The largest-scale exhibitions have been arranged by Malaysia (95 companies), the United States (83), Britain (70), France (42), Germany (34), Turkey (34), South Africa (32), South Korea (30), Australia (28), the Czech Republic (25), Singapore (24), and Italy and China (23 each).

The DSA exhibition has been held since 1988 with support from the Malaysian Defence Ministry, the Armed Forces and the Royal Police Service of the country. By the scope and the number of exhibitors, the forum is among the world's five major exhibitions of armaments.
