Lavrov to visit China April 15, to discuss preparations for Vladimir Putin’s visit

MOSCOW, April 13, 15:39 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is expected to visit China April 15 where he will discuss preparations for Vladimir Putin’s visit to that country, as well as the situation in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said Sunday.

“In Beijing, Minister Lavrov will hold a meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping and will have talks with Foreign Minister Wang Yi,” it said. “One of the main objectives of his trip there is to prepare President Vladimir Putin’s visit.”

“Special attention will be paid to the situation in Ukraine,” the report said. “It is well known that China’s position is marked by objectiveness and balance and a demonstration of understanding of a full combination of factors - including the historical ones - that brought about a new reality in that region,” the ministry said.
