Saint Petersburg to host Eurasian Economic Prospects international forum on April 17

MOSCOW, April 11. /ITAR-TASS/. The Second International Forum “Eurasian Economic Prospects” will open in St. Petersburg’s State Institute of Economics on April 17, the State Duma Directorate for Public Relations and Contacts with Mass Media said on Friday, April 11.

Spokesman of the State Duma, lower house of Russia’s parliament, Sergei Naryshkin will be moderator of a plenary discussion entitled, Global Threats and Competitive Strategy of the Eurasian Integration.

Taking part in the discussion are expected to be Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Chairman of the Kazakhstani parliament’s Majlis Kabibulla Dzhakupov, member of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Board (minister) Tatyana Valovaya, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council (upper house of the Russian parliament) Ilyas Umakhanov, Chairman of the EurAsEC (Eurasian Economic Community) Court Musabek Alimbekov, and President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin.

Program of the forum envisages roundtables on the matters of economy, legislation, politics and education with leading specialists and experts in these spheres. Recommendations on the problems of the Eurasian space will become a result of the forum, the department said.
