Russian official: Ukraine misses deadlines to collect military equipment left in Crimea

MOSCOW, April 10. /ITAR-TASS/. A Russian Defence Ministry official said Ukraine has repeatedly missed the deadlines to collect military equipment and armaments left in Crimea.

As of April 9, 350 units of military equipment belonging to Ukrainian troops had been taken outside Crimea and the Russian border, Russia's Deputy Defence Minister Dmitry Bulgakov told reporters on Wednesday.

"The Russian ministry would like to complete this work by June 2014, but the process is slow-going as Ukraine keeps missing the deadlines to provide freight trains," Bulgakov said.

Russia's Black Sea Fleet used its equipment to take Ukrainian military equipment to rail loading points. "The armaments and military equipment will be handed over in the state in which they were abandoned by Ukrainian servicemen," the military official said.
