Airplane en route from Russia’s Novosibirsk to Dubai makes emergency landing

The West Siberian prosecutor’s office is conducting an inquiry into the incident

NOVOSIBIRSK, April 09. /ITAR-TASS/. A passenger airliner of Transaero Airlines en route from Siberian city of Novosibirsk to the largest United Arab Emirates (UAE) city of Dubai flied back to the airport of departure after a detector in anti-icing system control was activated, aide of West Siberian transport prosecutor Oksana Gorbunova told ITAR-TASS on Wednesday.

“Boeing-737-800 airliner departed at 8:15 a.m. local time (2:15 a.m. GMT) from Novosibirsk to Dubai, when a detector in control of the anti-icing system presumably activated and the chief pilot decided to return to the airport of departure,” she said.

148 passengers, including one child and seven crewmembers, were onboard the airliner. The airliner landed at 10:39 a.m. local time (3:39 a.m. GMT) on Wednesday.

“Passengers are waiting for a backup airliner which is already ordered from Moscow. The West Siberian prosecutor’s office is conducting an inquiry,” Gorbunova added.
