BAKU, April 07. /ITAR-TASS/. The chiefs of the Army General Staff of Russia and Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Valery Gerasimov and Colonel-General Najmaddin Sadigov, met in Baku on Monday, April 7, to discuss military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
“I am glad to meet you and thank you for the invitation to visit Azerbaijan. I hope that our meeting today will help further strengthen military-technical cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan,” Gerasimov said.
Sadigov noted that this was the first-ever visit to independent Azerbaijan by the chief of the Russian Army General Staff. “Relations between the Armed Forces of Russia and Azerbaijan develop well. Russia is our main partner in military-technical cooperation. We continue to implement major contracts and cooperate in many areas quite successfully,” he said.
