Two elderly pensioners found dead under debris of Siberian house fallen in gas blast

OMSK, April 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Two pensioners who died in a domestic gas blast were recovered from under debris of a residential house in settlement Konnozavodsky in Maryanovka District in Russian Siberia’s Omsk Region. The death toll of domestic gas blast reached five, chief press officer of the regional emergency situation department Aleksey Puryshev told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

Deceased pensioners were spouses born in 1936 and 1942. A man and two women were found dead earlier on Sunday. Nine dwellers are undergoing treatment at hospitals, particularly three of them, including a child, in intensive care. According to preliminary reports, the 12-flat residential house has collapsed partially in the domestic gas blast that went off at 6.30am Moscow time (2.30am GMT) on Sunday on the second floor of the apartment block. A criminal case was opened for causing death through negligence.
