Angolan foreign minister to make working visit to Russia April 5-9

MOSCOW, April 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Angolan Foreign Minister Georges Chikoti will make a working visit to Russia on April 5-9, the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

The visit will be made at the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

On April 8, Lavrov and Chikoti will discuss bilateral cooperation and intergovernmental agreements aimed at expanding business, scientific, technical and humanitarian contacts between the two countries.

The ministers will exchange views on the reform of the UN and its Security Council, disarmament, modern challenges and threats. Special attention will be riveted to the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, including the settlement of crises, peacekeeping efforts and stable economic and social development.

Russia values friendly relations with Angola, a reliable and old partner on the African continent. Russia praises mutual understanding on global and regional issues, the ministry says.

Due to both countries’ vigorous efforts, trade and economic relations have gained momentum.
