MOSCOW, April 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Representatives of Russia’s off-parliament opposition and Moscow City officials have reached a verbal agreement on permitting a rally in support of mass media, due to be held April 13, Pyotr Tsarkov, a member of the Protest Actions Committee said.

“Upon the end of today’s negotiations between the applicants for the action and officials at the Mayor’s Office an oral agreement was reached to hold a rally April 13 on Sakharov avenue between the Garden Right streets and Turgenev Square from 16:00  through to 19:00 Moscow time,” Tsarkov claimed. “The declared number of the participants is 50,000.”

“The Mayor’s Office will issue an official document to us Monday, April 7,” he said.

“An oral agreement does exit but formal permission will be issued Monday,” Vassily Oleinik, a deputy chief of Moscow City’s department for regional security told ITAR-TASS.

He also said organizers of the meeting had informed him on an official renunciation of a street procession along the route that the Mayor’s Office had offered to them and had asked to organize the rally on the Sakharov avenue.
