Medvedev to attend int'l conference, discuss innovations-related matters in social policy

MOSCOW, April 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will attend the 15th April international scientific conference on the theme of "The Modernization of the Economy and Society".

An RF government press service official said Medvedev would make a speech at a roundtable meeting on the subject "Innovation and Social Policy in the New Conditions".

The conference, which has been arranged by the National research university "The Higher School of Economics" national research university with the participation of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, is taking place in Moscow from April 1 to 4.

The following special themes are on the agenda of the conference: The Functions of the State in the Present-Day World: Models, Problems, and Challenges; Cultural Evolution and Modernization; The Economic Development and Problems of Inequality; and Diversity of the Models of Capitalism. Plenary sessions, individual honorary reports, sections and roundtable meetings are dedicated to these matters.

Numerous sessions with the presentation of reports and expert roundtable meetings on economic development matters of current importance are also to be held in the framework of the conference.
