Russia acknowledges China’s position on Crimea

KHUJAD, April 01./ITAR-TASS/. Russia has praised China’s support for its position on Crimea, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

“We are grateful to China for understanding our steps,” he told Chinese Defense Minister Colonel General Chang Wanquan on Tuesday.

China was concerned over “expanding ‘color revolutions’ in certain regions of the world”, Chang said, while Shoigu noted that “constructive strategic partnership has united Russia and China for many years”

Chang shared Russia’s view. “Military contacts with Russia are reliable and stable," said Chang. "China is ready to develop them further."
