Investigators bring charges against policeman who opened fire in western Moscow

MOSCOW, April 01. /ITAR-TASS/. Investigators have brought attempted murder charges against a police officer who opened fire in western Moscow.

"Dmitry Trubnikov is suspected of the crime covered by Article 30, Part 3 and Article 105, Part 2 of Russia's penal code ("attempted murder of two or more persons"), an Investigative Committee (IC) official said. On March 31, Trubnikov, at a police station in Ryabinovaya Street, used his service pistol to fire at least eight shots at his colleagues.

The IC said the shooting had been motivated by hate.

The injured policemen were taken to hospital. "Trubnikov admitted his involvement, but refused to give evidence," the IC said.

A number of witnesses have already been questioned. The IC is examining the video recordings from CCTV cameras. It will carry out several expert examinations within the probe.
