Russia’s Lavrov, US Kerry discuss Ukrainian settlement over phone

MOSCOW, March 31, /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss the situation in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

“The two diplomats discussed steps to promote the settlement of the crisis situation in Ukraine after their Sunday meeting in Paris,” the ministry said.

Last week, Lavrov and Kerry met twice over the Ukrainian crisis - on the sidelines of the nuclear security summit in the Hague on March 24 and in Paris on March 30. The two foreign ministers agreed to meet again to continue their discussion of this problem. Following the Paris meeting, Lavrov said that Russian and the United States had agreed to continue efforts to find ways to settle the situation in Ukraine.
