Russian and Angolan defense ministers discuss military cooperation

MOSCOW, March 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Angolan counterpart Candido Pereira dos Santos Van Dunem discussed bilateral military cooperation and its prospects.

In the course of the talks, the ministers exchanged opinions about pressing issues of mutual interest. "Russia is interested in continuing stability and peace in central Africa and believes that Angola's battleworthy armed forces can be one of the security guarantors in the region," Shoigu said.

The Angolan minister noted that his country was ready "to develop and strengthen military cooperation" with Russia.
