Crimea appoints senator to Russian upper house

SIMFEROPOL, March 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Vice-speaker of the Crimean parliament Sergei Tsekov has been appointed senator from Crimea to represent a legislative branch of power in Crimea in the upper house of the Russian parliament.

The candidature of Sergei Tsekov was approved by 83 deputies of the Crimean parliament. In connection with the appointment to the new post Tsekov was relieved of the duties of the vice-speaker of the Crimean parliament.
