MOSCOW, March 24. /ITAR-TASS/. The deliveries of armaments and military equipment under last year’s state defense order have almost been fulfilled, and the Russian army in the near future would start to receive advanced armaments and military equipment under the 2014 state defense order, Russia's Defense Ministry’s press service told Itar-Tass on Monday.

“At the moment, about 16,000 units of the main samples of armaments, military and special equipment have been delivered to the army under the 2013 state defense order, and more than 4,000 units have been repaired. In general, the 2013 state defense order on the delivery of armaments, military and special equipment has been 93% fulfilled, and on the repairs - 91% fulfilled,” the source said. It added that the level of operating equipment in Russian army units had reached 80%, and the number of properly operating samples of the so-called “presidential” equipment was close to 100%.

“The last-generation Coalition-SV heavy self-propelled artillery systems, having no match in the world in terms of the combat and operating characteristics, will be purchased for the Russian Ground Forces in the near future. According to him, it was also planned to deliver the Iskander missile systems, the Msta-S, Tornado-G artillery systems, the Khrizantema self-propelled anti-tank systems and other samples of armaments, military and special equipment in 2014.

“It is also planned in the short run to purchase the advanced samples of general-purpose support facilities: a family of wheeled and track-type unified highly mobile modular platforms (Typhoon-U and Typhoon-K six-wheel transporters, O-Platform, Arctic vehicles and others), amphibious engineer reconnaissance vehicles, new-generation counter-obstacle vehicles with artificial intelligence system elements, NBC reconnaissance vehicles, mobile spray stations, new-generation aerosol dispersion and foam camouflage equipment on unified platforms of small and medium capacity and a number of others,” the source added.
