MOSCOW, March 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Ministry has voiced concern over the US authorities’ decision to suspend the activity of the Syrian Embassy and its consulates.
“America’s measures arouse concern and run counter the Moscow-Washington agreement on the peaceful resolution of the Syrian crisis based on the Geneva communique of June 30, 2012 that envisages holding talks with the Syrian government and the opposition,” the ministry said.
Russia urges the US partners to take more weighty and objective position on the situation in Syria in order to stop the armed conflict as soon as possible and continue the Geneva negotiating process, the ministry said.
