Russia’s law enforcers thwarted more than 231,000 drug-related crimes

MOSCOW, March 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia liquidated almost 900 drug syndicates in 2013, head of the Federal Drugs Control Service Viktor Ivanov told a meeting of the service’s collegium on Friday.

Last year more than 12,600 criminal cases related to organized crimes were investigated, of them 10,000 - by the Federal Drugs Control Service.

Russia’s law enforcers thwarted more than 231,000 drug-related crimes. Almost 118,000 people were brought to criminal responsibility, of them almost 3,500 are foreign citizens and over 4,000 - residents of Central Asian states with Russian passports.
