MOSCOW, March 14, /ITAR-TASS/. In a conversation with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered his assessment of the acute situation that has taken shape in Ukraine. In part “the settlement of the crisis will be possible only on the basis of unconditional respect for the interests and will of the multi-ethnic population in all regions of that country,” the Kremlin’s press-service said.
The telephone conversation was requested by the Iranian side.
In an exchange of opinion over the Iranian nuclear program Putin spoke positively of Iran’s constructive approach to negotiations with the sextet of mediators.
“A number of topical issues of the bilateral and international agenda was discussed. The mutual determination was confirmed to build up mutually beneficial cooperation and systematic implementation of coordinated projects and agreements,” the press-service said.
It was agreed to continue an active bilateral dialogue over international and regional problems, including preparations for another Caspian summit.
