MOSCOW, March 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Strategic Missile Troops began testing use of a new mobile robotic technical system which is being created for protection and defence of these troops’ facilities, official of the press service and information department of the Russian Defence Ministry for Russian Strategic Missile Troops Dmitry Andreyev told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

The system is intended “for army reconnaissance, spotting and destroying stationary and moving targets, fire support of military units, patrolling and protection of important facilities in automated (engineering technical devices) security systems.” It can provide an option to conduct combat actions in the nighttime without de-masking factors and an option of aiming weapons, tracking and hitting targets in automatic and semi-automatic control modes. The advanced combat system is equipped with optical electronic and radar reconnaissance stations.
