YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, March 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Sakhalin region police chief Vladislav Belotserkovsky is suspected of misuse of powers, investigators told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
"Belotserkovsky has been taken to Khabarovsk within the framework of investigation into his criminal case," the regional department of the Investigative Committee told Itar-Tass.
The Investigative Committee declined to elaborate. "Belotserkovsky has been detained; he's not under arrest as some media have reported," it said.
The case will be handled by investigators from the Khabarovsk department. Belotserkovsky was detained in his office by Federal Security Service agents on Monday.
