Bull on easier getting citizenship by Russian speakers referred to State Duma

MOSCOW, March 11, /ITAR-TASS/. The government on March 11 submitted to the State Duma a bill facilitating receiving Russian citizenship by foreigners who are Russian speakers. An applicant must waive citizenship of a foreign state. The bill was endorsed by the government on March 6.

The bill also suggests cutting from six to three months the period of time for consideration of applications for Russian citizenship by beneficiaries of the state program of assistance to voluntary relocation to Russia of compatriots residing abroad.
