Russia policy aims to preserve Ukraine’s territorial integrity

Nazran, March 04, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia now pursues the policy of preserving Ukraine’s territorial integrity, holds Ingushetia’s head Yunus-Bek Yevkurov. The events that earlier had shaken Ukraine “amounted to a coup and an armed seizure of power,” Yevkurov said in an interview with Itar-Tass.

“This [the coup in Ukraine] was done, among others, by representatives of the United States and the West, who brought the Ukrainian leadership to the signing of an agreement and then did all so that the situation should take the turn of an armed seizure of power rather than develop according to the scenario of the agreement,” the head of Ingushetia said.

In this dramatic situation, Yevkurov stressed, “Russia pursues the policy of preservation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and fulfills its obligations to the fraternal people and legitimate authorities of the country.”

Recalling the events of recent history, the head of Ingushetia noted that in the previous years the Russian leadership warned the United States and NATO about possible consequences of armed interference under invented pretexts into affairs of other states, such as Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Yugoslavia and others.

“Chaos and crime now reign in the states where there used to be least a semblance of peace, human rights are violated,” Yevkurov stressed.

The West is engaged in propaganda, using double standards, he holds.

Crimes of international dimension committed by neo-Nazis, torture and indignities to which representatives of the authorities lawfully elected by the Ukrainian people are subjected are overlooked completely, he stressed.

Russia having common roots and common history with the Ukrainian people cannot limit itself to statements and warnings when the rights and freedoms of the many-millioned Russian-speaking people in Ukraine are flouted. They would not forgive the policy of non-interference, Yevkurov said. He is sure that everyone who is a patriot should now support Russia.

“The United States and Western countries now recalling their ambassadors and disrupting commercial relations and military ties with Russia means outright blackmail,” Yevkurov holds.
