Mayor asks Moscow government to suggest proposals on support to Sevastopol

MOSCOW, March 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanian has asked the Moscow government to consider measures for additional support to Sevastopol and submit their proposals to the mayor.

Moscow and Sevastopol have long-standing traditional ties in the field of culture, social support and economy established over the course of history, Sobyanian said. He reminded of social support that Moscow renders to veterans of the Black Sea Fleet, deliveries of medical equipment and transport vehicles to Sevastopol , which Moscow ensures annually, and cultural events Moscow organizes in Sevastopol.

"Today, both Sevastopol and Crimea are in a difficult economic and political situation. Therefore, I ask you to work out proposals on support to Sevastopol and Crimea," the Moscow mayor said. He explained that measures of social support, assistance in the field of education, health service and public utilities services and financial support should be considered as well.
