TAMBOV, March 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The Tambov region is prepared to provide accommodation to forced migrants from Ukraine, Speaker of the Tambov regional Duma Alexander Nikitin declared on Monday.The center for assistance to refugees based in the settlement of Gavrilovka in the Sosnovsky district can accommodate around 400 people, Nikitin said, adding that its capacity would be enlarged in the near future.
The people who confronted serious hardships in Ukraine will be offered both accommodation and financial support from the regional budget in accordance with social programs in effect in the Tambov region, the speaker said. The Tambov region is also ready to provide the necessary legislative support to the people from Ukraine who will stay in the region, the regional governor said.
A regional fund to aid people from Ukraine will be created in the next few days and will welcome contributions from local residents, the governor said.
