MOSCOW, February 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed a decree removing economic security and anti-corruption department chief Lieut.-Gen. Denis Sugrobov from office, the Kremlin press service said.

Sugrobov was appointed to head the Interior Ministry’s Department for Economic Security and Counteraction against Corruption by a presidential decree on June 28, 2011. Before the appointment he worked in various police structures in the Central Federal District.

Other reshuffles at Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs

Russia’s Presidetn Vladimir Putin has recently made a number of management reshuffles at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

February 18, Dmitry Mironov has been appointed First Deputy Chief of Main Directorate for Criminal Investigation.

On the same day, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yuri Alekseev has been dismissed. He also headed the ministry’s investigatory department. Alekseev was holding office since June 2012. In October 2013, the president dismissed several high-ranking officials of the Interior Ministry. Then, Alekseev’s deputy Nikolai Shelepanov also has been removed from office.

In early 2013, the Russian president also made management reshuffles in Moscow Region’s Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry. In particular, he dismissed the directorate’s head Nikolai Golovkin. Moscow Region’s police was headed by police Major General Viktor Paukov, who earlier was head of Internal Affairs Directorate in Moscow’s Central Administrative District.

In January 2013, head of Moscow’s State Traffic Safety Inspectorate Alexander Ilyin resigned due to retirement.
