MOSCOW, February 20. /Itar-Tass/. Russian consular officials in New York are scheduled to visit jailed Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko on February 20, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich said on Thursday.

“I can confirm that Russian consular officials are scheduled to visit Yaroshenko today,” the diplomat said. “We have to point out that the prison authorities have emphatically dismissed our insistent repeated demands to let a Russian doctor examine Yaroshenko.”

“We are demanding comprehensive examination and full-fledged treatment of our citizen.” Lukashevich said. “Also, we are pressing for permission to a Russian delegation under the Foreign Ministry’s commissioner for human rights and rule of law, Konstantin Dolgov and Russian medics to get access to Yaroshenko.
