Russia restricts access to ten extremist websites

MOSCOW, February 20, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia has restricted access to ten websites propagating extremism, including websites run by Islamic terrorist organizations, an spokeswoman said.

"A monitoring of a number of websites has uncovered the spreading of materials inciting to terrorism and urging ethnic violence and changing the Constitutional order of the Russian Federation. Some of these websites promoted the activity of Islamic terrorism organizations," spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General's Office Marina Gridneva /PGO/ told Itar-Tass.

The Roskomnadzor Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media has met ten demands by the PGO for closure of extremist websites since February 1, Gridneva said.
