Kuwaiti emir invited to visit Russia

KUWAIT CITY, February 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah to visit the country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after a meeting with Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sabah on Wednesday.

“The Kuwaiti emir has an invitation to visit Russia. Today we’ve discussed measures to make the visit intensive,” Lavrov said, adding “We’d like the visit to yield concrete results in the trade and economic fields. We’d like major investment projects to be implemented by both parties.”

“We’ll prepare concrete documents due to be signed at the summit. The high-level contacts facilitate the development of relations. We’re sure that the new contacts between our countries will help develop partnership with Kuwait and cooperation with the Persian Gulf countries,” the Russian minister said.
