MOSCOW, February 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet has invited his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to visit Estonia in the second half of the year.
At the beginning of his talks with Lavrov on Monday, Paet said: “Frequency of bilateral contacts between our countries should be more active. There are not only challenges in our cooperation, but also great opportunities.”
The signing of two border treaties is expected following the negotiations, including the State Border Treaty between the Republic of Estonia and the Russian Federation and the Treaty on the Delimitation of Maritime Areas of Narva Bay and the Gulf of Finland.
“I hope after signing these documents, we will reach some other agreements as well, particularly in the trade and economic spheres,” the minister added.
