MOSCOW, February 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Last year 135,000 people received Russian citizenship and another 220,000 - residence permits, Deputy Head of the Federal Migration Service Yelena Radochina told a State Duma meeting on Thursday.
Last year migrants received 1.5 million work patents. Since work patents were introduced in Russia, almost 4 million migrants have received such documents. The Russian budget has reported almost 20 billion rubles in revenue from the issuance of patents, she said.
As of January 1, 2014, any migrant worker applying to the Federal Migration Service for a work permit should provide medical examination results. Beginning from 2016 such a measure would be introduced for migrants applying for patents, Radochina said.
Last year the Federal Migration Service banned entry to Russia for 460,000 foreigners.
