SINGAPORE, February 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian manufacturer United Aircraft Corporation plans to produce 40 Sukhoi Superjet 100s for regional flights this year, aiming for 50 in 2015.
“Our business plan allowed us to produce 25 in 2012. We plan for 40 planes in 2014 and around 50 next year,” company president Mikhail Pogosyan told reporters at an airshow in Singapore on Thursday
Rollout from one plant, at Komsomolsk-on-Amur, highlighted the corporation's productivity. Only four planes were made there in 2011. Production rose to 12 in 2012, the company reported.
Pogosyan said that Mexico and Indonesia, first to operate the aircraft, were satisfied with its technical characteristics and maintenance requirements.
The Superjet concept had proved itself, he said. “It is clear that such a plane is in demand on the market.”
